Action verbs that ATS favors
Start bullet points with strong verbs: Developed, Led, Managed, Designed, Implemented, Optimized, Automated, Achieved, Delivered, Streamlined. ATS recognizes these as signals of measurable contribution.
Role-specific technical keywords
Include exact tool names from the job description: React, Python, AWS, SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, REST APIs, CI/CD, Azure, Linux. Match the terminology used in the job ad—ATS looks for text overlap.
Soft skills keywords
Communication, Leadership, Problem Solving, Project Management, Team Collaboration, Adaptability, Time Management, Critical Thinking. Many job descriptions now include soft skill requirements—add them where truthful.
Industry-specific terms
